National Level Technical Symposium, “MACRON 2022” on 01.06.2022
Department of Polymer Engineering organized National Level Technical Symposium, “MACRON 2022” on 01.06.2022. Dr.Raja Hussain, Additional Registrar over the event. Dr.S.Rasool Mohideen, Dean(SMS) felicitated the event. Dr.Revathi Purushothaman, HOD welcomed the gathering. The symposium was coordinated by Mrs.R.Daulath Banu, Assistant Professor. The Chief guest of the National Level Technical Symposium was Mr. Dharm Vahalia Managing Director, Ascend Performance materials India Pvt. Ltd., South Asia. Student Magazine “POLYLINKS 2k22” was released by our chief guest. He delivered a talk on Advance Polymeric Nanomaterials and placement opportunities in various sectors. Students from various colleges participated in various events. Paper presentation, Poster presentation, Technical Quiz and Photography events were conducted and prizes were distributed to the winners.
National Level Technical Symposium, “MACRON 2022” was organized by Department of Polymer Engineering on 01.06.2022 and was published in Dinamani Newspaper.

Department of Polymer Engineering organized Technical Symposium for Diploma Students on 13.05.2022. Dr.A.Azad, Registrar presided over the event. Dr.N.Raja Hussain, Additional Registrar and Dr.S.Rasool Mohideen offered their felicitation. Mr.Basanta Kumar Behera coordinated the event. Students from various parts of India such as Guwahati, Bhopal, Assam, Gwalior, Imphal, Odisha, Kerala and Chennai participated in paper presentation, poster presentation, quiz and won prizes

Ecological and Environmental Science
Dr.Revathi Purushothaman, Chairperson and Dr.J.Shahitha Parveen , Convenor convened the conference session for under Theme 11- Ecological and Environmental Science Research during Indian Social Science Congress held between 28th March and 1st April 2022. Dr. Rana Pratap Singh, outstation chairman chaired the session. Scholars and faculty members from various parts of India participated and presented research papers.

Department of Polymer Engineering and Polymer Nanotechnology Center organized an International Conference on “Nanomaterials: Science, Technology and Applications” during 5-7 December, 2013 jointly with Deakin University, Australia and University Technology, MARA, Malaysia. 25 invited lectures were given by the experts from India, USA, UK, Australia, Malaysia, Brazil, South Africa and France participated.

Events 2010-11
The Silver Jubliee of the institution was celebrated on 12th and 13th February 2011. The Department had participated in the Inhouse Exhibition on “Major applications of Polymers in domestic and industrial applications” on 12 -13 February, 2011 in the Department. More than 1000 students participated and were benefited by knowing the latest advancement in the polymer industries.

The Department organized a one day programme on “Catch them Young – handling of plastic waste for clean environment” for Government school children in Sep 2008. More than 800 school children participated.
Events 2005-06
The Department has organized a one day awareness programme on “Polyvision 2005” – an exposition of materials of the millenium – polymer materials and their applications in science, engineering and technology” on October 15, 2005 for the benefit of HSC students. The chief guests of honour were Mr. Krish S. Iyengar, Regional Manager, Reliance Industries Ltd., and Mr.P.B. Raman, Chief Executive, Hydro S & S Industries Ltd.

Two day national Seminar on “Emerging Trends on Biodegradable Plastics” on 15-16 September, 2004
The Department has organized two days National Seminar on “Emerging Trends on Biodegradable Plastics” during 15-16 September, 2004 at the Thaikapa Auditorium. The seminar was partly supported by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology, Chennai. Dr. Sushil K.Verma, Director General of CIPET inaugurated the function with his introductory lecture on “Biodegradable Plastics: An alternate solution for waste management”. More than 250 across the state registered and participated in the seminar.
